Last week the CEO of Ukraine Friends, Joe Sullivan traveled to Ukraine to meet with the team on the ground and provide additional humanitarian aid.
During his visit, he went to Moshchun village in the Bucha district to deliver laptops to children whose homes were destroyed during the initial months of the invasion when the Kyiv region was under attack. The region’s infrastructure suffered significant damage, and it was only recently many of the households regained access to electricity. These laptops will enable these children to begin the upcoming academic year remotely, although many more devices are still needed for other families.
The story of each child is both heart-wrenching and unique, and assisting them in continuing their schooling remotely is the least we can do. However, witnessing their joyful expressions gives hope and provides a clear understanding that supporting education in Ukraine is already an #investment in rebuilding the country.
