On February 24th, 2022, Russia law launched a full scale invasion of Ukraine, triggering the largest humanitarian crisis since WW2, this unprovoked aggression of displaced millions of Ukrainians, caused hundreds of thousands of human deaths and immeasurable economic and cultural destruction.
With the help of our incredible donors, passionate volunteers, and partners at other nonprofit organizations and government agencies, we oversaw the following accomplishments over the past year:
- We helped over 30,000 refugees escape the war zone
- Through a relationship with and the support of AirBnB, we provided safe, temporary housing for more than 10,000 women, children and elderly
- We delivered more than 90 refurbished ambulances packed to the brim with medical equipment and supplies, and have another 22 ambulances on the way right now
- We imported and provided more than 75,000 IFAKs and 50,000 wound and surgical kits, as well as pounds and pounds of hygiene products, and toys
- We supported Rachel Ray’s efforts to provide hundreds if not thousands of meals to those in need and are escorting her for a return visit in March 2023
- In partnership with Gostomel United Territorial Community, local residents, volunteers from the city of Kyiv, and Solidarna Molod, we helped to rebuild the roof of a cultural
- center that was damaged during shelling, provided a heating station and built a playground for the neighborhood children
- We brought the Mayor of Bucha to the United States in early 2023 to help raise awareness of the horrors of the last year and the need to do more
- We provided a large number of blankets and 14 pallets of winter clothes to help Ukrainians stay warm during the brutally cold winter.
The Strength of Ukraine Friends
Starting in the U.S.,individual IFAK components are sourced and purchased through Ukraine Friends extensive network of suppliers, ensuring the highest quality at the lowest cost. Once purchased, these components are sorted and packed into small pouches and marked with a red cross. The IFAKs are then then distributed to different regiments and charitable organizations depending on verified prioritized requests.

Individual First Aid Kits or IFAKs, are among the most requested and needed items by both the civil and defense forces in Ukraine. Given. These IFAKs contain 18 lifesaving components including interventions for two of the leading supply, and have a profound impact on saving causes of death on the battlefield, severe hemorrhage and inadequate air supply and are proven to have a profound impact on saving lives.
